About The Large Gold Minute Repeating Wristwatch
An early 20th-century Swiss minute-repeating lever watch in a large gold wristwatch case. The nickelled split three-quarter-plate keyless movement has a going barrel, a plain cock with polished steel regulator, and an uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring, using a club-foot lever escapement. The minute repeater is activated by a push button and strikes on two polished steel gongs, with a small rotating visible regulator.
The signed white enamel dial is marked “Minutes” and features subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, and blued-steel hands. The large plain gold wristwatch case has a glazed back displaying the movement. Rectangular gold lugs are attached to short oval pendants, each fitted with a crown; the crown at six o’clock is non-functional and present for symmetry. A gilt push button at three o’clock actuates the repeating mechanism.
Finished with a black grained leather strap.
