A late 19th-century Swiss minute repeater housed in a finely engine-turned 18-carat gold full hunter case, decorated with the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. The keyless nickel-bar movement features a going barrel, plain cock with polished steel regulator, and a compensation balance fitted with a blued steel overcoil hairspring. The club-foot lever escapement has escape and lever pivots set in endstones. The watch strikes the minutes and quarters via a slide-activated repeater on two polished steel gongs.

The white enamel dial displays Roman numerals, gilt hands, and a subsidiary seconds. The front cover showcases the Russian Imperial coat of arms in black enamel, with the three-crown ribbon highlighted in blue. The gold cuvette is engraved in Cyrillic: “Pavel Buhre, His Majesty’s Court Supplier.” Inside the front cover is a dedication reading, translated: “Most Merciful, granted to the artist of the French Troupe of the St. Petersburg Emperor’s Theatre – L. Gistrily, 1890.”
