A late 18th-century French verge watch in a gold and enamel consular case. The full-plate gilt fusee movement has round pillars, a finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, a plain three-arm gilt balance with blued-steel spiral hairspring, and a silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. The watch is wound through the signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and decorative stone-set hands.

The fine gold consular case has a gold pendant, stirrup bow, and number corresponding to that on the movement. The bezels are decorated with foliate green and white cloisonné enamel, and the wide band is translucent orange enamel over an engine-turned ground. The circular centre features cloisonné enamel on a matted gold ground.
