An early 19th-century Swiss quarter-repeating cylinder watch in an unusual double gold and enamel case. The slim keywind gilt-bar movement has a suspended going barrel, a plain cock with polished steel regulator, and an uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring, alongside a plain three-arm gilt balance with blued-steel spiral hairspring. The polished steel cylinder and steel escape wheel complete the movement.

The push-pendant quarter repeater strikes on two polished steel gongs. The white enamel dial has Roman numerals and gilt hands. The inner 18-carat open-face case features an engine-turned and engraved back with scalloped bezels and is wound and set through the signed gold cuvette. The outer gold case, shaped to match the inner case, has a hinged back and front bezel decorated with blue and white enamel.
