A late 18th-century English verge watch by Brockbank, featuring a regulator calendar dial and housed in stone-set gilt metal pair cases. The full-plate fire-gilt movement includes a signed and numbered gilt dust cover, a pierced and engraved masked cock with silver regulator disc, and a fusee with chain. It has a plain three-arm steel balance with blued-steel spiral hairspring.

The white enamel regulator dial displays minutes with a central gold arrow hand and Arabic numerals, hours at twelve in Roman numerals, and continuous seconds below. Two additional subsidiary dials indicate the age of the moon and day of the month.

The gilt pair cases include a plain inner case and a richly decorated outer case with chased and engraved bezels set with alternating green and red stones. The back features a restored scene of a spilled basket of fruit with birds, and a concealed hinge completes the design.
