About The Gold Watch and Diamond Set Ring Mount
A rare late 18th-century miniature cylinder watch set within a diamond-accented gold ring. The watch features a very small full-plate movement with fusee and chain, a finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with a steel coqueret, and a steel regulator mounted on the top plate beneath the plain three-arm gilt balance. It is equipped with a polished steel cylinder and a brass escape wheel. The watch winds through a small white enamel dial with Roman numerals and gilt hands.
The plain gold consular case includes a gold pendant and bow, with the front bezel adorned with a row of small diamonds. The accompanying gold ring has a hinged mount for the watch and a back engraved with a monogram. The shank of the ring is also set with diamonds.
