An early 19th-century English Massey type two-lever watch with a fine decorative gold dial in a gold open-face case. The full-plate gilt keywind fusee movement with dust cover features Harrison’s maintaining power, a chased and engraved cock inscribed “Patent – Detach’d,” diamond endstone, blue-steel Bosley regulator, and a plain three-arm polished steel balance with blued-steel spiral hairspring. The watch has a Massey type two-lever escapement.

The gold dial is matted with applied gold Roman numerals, three-colour gold decoration to the centre and border, and blued-steel hands. The 18-carat engine-turned open-face case has the movement hinged at 9 o’clock, engine-turned bezels, and a deeply chased and engraved middle, pendant, and bow. Maker’s mark “TH & Co” with number corresponding to that on the movement.
