About The Gold Keyless Reverse Fusee by Kullberg
A fine late-19th-century English freesprung centre-seconds keyless watch with reverse fusee and 30-hour power-reserve indication by Kullberg, in a gold open-face case. The gilt three-quarter-plate movement features Harrison’s maintaining power, a compensation balance with freesprung blued-steel overcoil, and an unusual skeletonised bridge cock with a diamond endstone. The English double-roller lever escapement has screwed-in jewelling, including an endstone on the centre-seconds pinion.
The signed white enamel dial has Roman numerals, blued-steel hands, and a power-reserve sector beneath twelve. The 18-carat gold case bears the maker’s mark “JM,” with a small gold hand-setting button under the back cover and a plain gold cuvette. Accompanied by a morocco case with 9-carat gold repoussé mask (Birmingham 1901) and an easel stand for desk use.
