An early 19th-century verge watch in a rare pearl-set case shaped as a reclining lamb. The small circular full-plate gilt fusee movement features a finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, a plain three-arm gilt balance with blued steel spiral hairspring, and a silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. The watch is wound through the restored white enamel dial, which displays Arabic numerals and blued steel Breguet hands.
The exceptionally rare two-piece gold case, set with split pearls, depicts the lamb from front and back in restored polychrome enamel. Behind the lamb is an upturned straw hat filled with roses. A fixed gold loop set with split pearls and a small rectangular gold button allow the cover to be opened. The watch is presented in a velvet-lined case.
