An early 19th-century English duplex watch housed in a fine decorative gold consular case with a matching chain. The full-plate fire-gilt movement includes a gilt dust cover pierced to display the table of the cock and the regulator disc. It features a fusee and chain with Harrison’s maintaining power. The pierced and engraved cock is fitted with a large diamond endstone, and the silver regulator disc complements the plain three-arm steel balance with blued steel spiral hairspring. The watch employs a duplex escapement with a brass escape wheel.

The gold engine-turned dial is set with applied gold Arabic numerals on a matted ground and fitted with pierced gilt hands. The attractive 18-carat open-face case has a reeded middle, pendant, and bow, with the back decorated in four-colour gold floral motifs protected by a glazed cover. Both the back glass and front bezel open via a split button in the pendant.

Accompanying the watch is a long gold snake chain with two gold sliders decorated in matching four-colour gold. A "T" bar with applied gold ornamentation is attached to a short snake chain and key.
